As long as the can looked fine and the food smelled fine it was still good, I read somewhere that cans are good for 5 years after expiration as long as there are no dents or bubbles in the can.

AWSOME!!!!! i love tryin stuff like that!!! no way you are in any trouble, I ate a granola bar i found in a car i bought a while back it went out in 08 it was kinda stale and the white thingies i found out were chocolate chips......... to prevent such things from happening my wife checks dates monthly an tosses accordingly!!! she says she dont want to kiss a mouth that has ate stuff like that!!!!! haha (if she only knew!!!)
she even tossed a jar of honey out recently!!!! that stuff never goes bad!!!!!

When I work the dairy department at a grocery store, we had a running game going on who could drink a cup of the most out of date milk. my personal best was 5 weeks.
oh god!! i poured a cup yesterday that was just around the corner from bad and i almost tossed my cookies you are in my humble opinion one bad man!!!
