So I have a RE 3.5 superflex kit for my tj, and was just wondering if adding my old 2'' BB would give me any sub-optimal effects? In other words, would that be considered taboo in the trail world? I live in Wilmington, NC and usually drive on the beach but am interested in a more "technical" experience offroad.:smokin:

Lots of people run spacers on top of springs. Usually not very tall though. At that height your control arm angle is going to be cruddy, axles not centered like that should, and alignment may be a pain. Gotta remember driveshaft angles also especially if you don't have the slip yoke eliminator kit

the setup itself would be fine...assuming you did everything else required to run a ~5.5" kit...

i.e. correct shocks, SYE, long arms, etc...

I ran 3.5" springs and 1.75" spacers for awhile...then just swapped to RE 4.5" springs...

Well I do have a SYE kit and rear cambolts for the upper control arms. Allignment is fine and no vibrations, but just trying to make sure it would be somewhat capable offroad.

A shyster is an unethical or unscrupulous person.

So, I'd say no... it's not shysty. :flipoff2:

It'll work. A good amount of people run spacers on the front part of their rig to cope with the increased weight from aftermarket bumpers and winches.

if you haven't bought them yet go by masonboro auto / cape fear 4x4.... they're on market st near the harley davidson shop.... across the street behind the intimate bliss wack shack in the very back....
