Hey guys,

I am relatively new to the off-road stuff. Ive been looking into getting an XJ, and I stumbled across this one and thought it looked decent.

But...is it worth 7 G's?

Other than a relatively clean body, and the lift/wheels, what makes it worth the the price.

Matt

No link, but often it isn't worth the price. Always look for upgraded axles and gears as priorities when buying a modified truck

Not even close.

In stock form: (KBB Private Party Value)
Condition Value
Excellent
$2,660
Good
$2,285
Fair
$1,710

It is basically stock in my book with a locker. Stock axles & drivetrain.
Add a couple thousand to the value if you really like it.

More like $3500 IMO

Well I'd run the other way... to start with the guys know little (if anything) about it/XJs. IMO Skyjunker is just that, junk. What rear locker? Miles are high, Steering geometry has got to be crazy off... I'd guess it will sell for around $3,000.

Big thanks!!!! I was looking at trading him for my car...my car may not be everyones cup of tea but it's well built.

Looking at getting something to have some fun in, and not always flip out over my car being dirty! lol!

Says the guy parked in a dirt parking lot...:flipoff2:

My way of thinkin about buying prebuilt rigs is can I part it and make some profit or at least get my money back if I dont like it or can't sell it whole. In this case I'd pass.

Easy? Just returning the favor lol.

When I read the description of the XJ it sounded nice, after looking around this forum you guys are right, it pretty much stock.

def not worth that! hell mines a 92 with less miles and looks better/straighter body. looks beat up, and obv has a overheating problem bc every other pic the hoods up. there are some nice ones on here for sale.

I saw a bad ass Full width XJ hp 44/9 4.56 rear detroit, 98 model, 120k miles for 7k not far ago, nice built, running 37s, keep an eye out, youll find the right one for you.

I wouldn't trade your car for that XJ. Nice little EF you have there, wish I still had mine, it was a great car and was fun to drive since it had a B16 swap.

What's the specs on your car? Seems like a well put together car from looking at the pics. Is that a Drag turbo kit? Kind of looks like it but I'm not sure, haven't had my EF for years.

Jeep might not be worth 7k, but it will certainly go for more than 5. And looks like he's trying to trade so of course it will have some ridiculous price. If he's willing to trade for your car without much boot on your end then it would be a pretty good deal IMO

Managed 5k for that after a long time, was in great shape, no issues. Same lift as the jeep your looking at.

126k vs 180k
Rockrails vs none
Winch Bumper vs none
Rear hitch vs none

Not sure how you could lift up a jeep like that and have no towpoints, makes me wonder how many times hes tugged on those axles or the rear leaf spring

IMO, Its worth 3500-4000, if that.
