So I bought an isuzu d44 and it came with a flange that *looks* like it'll work for whatever joint came stock on my XJ.

Part is spicer C2-2-721, I've done quite a bit of searching and reading old threads and can't find any part numbers.

Just wondering if anyone knows if this is the part I need or if I should look for another shaft yoke. Once I've pulled the old rearend I'll just try the old joint (1310?) and see if it fits. But if anyone's got any info I'd love a part #.

Same deal for the brakeline adaptor, anyone got a part number for that? Pretty random, I know. But I've got a buyer lined up for my old rearend so I need the old hardlines to go with the old axle.

THanks in advance.

Just call your local parts store and see if it takes the same ujoint.

Sadly the local parts store has sold me the wrong u-joints more than once.

I ended up having to bring in my axleshaft to get the right joint for it, it was funny as hell seeing the goon in the advance shirt just opening box after box.

Thanks for the suggestion but if it comes down to it, I'll just check and see with the joints I already have.

I can tell you I'll be getting some decent domestic joints this time. Way cheaper in the long run than grenading a joint and then shaft. Lesson learned the hard way.

(I'm redoing the front end at the same time so no one's confused why I'm talking about axleshaft u-joints in a rearend thread)

they did this swap in jp magazine about a year ago and iirc they swapped a regular dana 44 1310 yoke in place of the flange.

Yeah, I read that too. Trying to save $50 here as there are no good junkyards nearby and if this one fits I'll use it. Quite honestly, I think the flange and 4 grade 8 bolts looks stronger than any straps or u-bolt yokes I've seen.

Starting the swap tomorrow so I'll find it all out. Thanks guys

Not too familiar with this style yoke, just has ears- no straps or u-bolts.

That said, I pressed the old joint in and it fits. I'm gonna get a new joint and assemble it to slap under the beast.

Since I bought the axle used, I can't confirm that its the stock suzy yoke but for anyone that searches, the spicer p/n is for a yoke that bolts to the pinion flange and it fits the stock 8.25 joint out of a '97 sport XJ (1310 I think but I can't recall).

Only thing I can think is that this looks like it'll add a little bit to the DS length. 1" or so.
