I know some of you guys are in the IT world and are probably more intelligent about this topic than I am...
We just switched IT providers at my work and the new company brings in their own firewall, so we have a couple year old Cisco Meraki MX84 with a 3yr license that we just renewed in February 2023 (good til Feb 2026). Does Cisco offer any kind of rebate on the license, and is the device itself worth more with nearly 3 years of license remaining? It was about $2000 new, and then the license renewal was $2200 for 3 years.

Also, we will have a 3 year old Dell 1u rack mount server coming available in the next couple weeks too.

Some will do trade on hardware or licenses but it's usually when you are moving to newer equipment.
Yeah that's what I figured.

From my internal InfoSec guy...
The Cisco is sellable via grey market (Ebay/FBMP/CL)... would need to be "unclaimed" = removed (from YOUR Meraki account), which would allow the purchaser to "claim" it...
The licensing is fuzzy, but should be able to contact Cisco/Meraki support to get the scoop. If it was bought as separate line item, possible...

Ask your IT provider about Cisco Migration Incentive Program (MIP) and you could possibly apply credit for the HW & License to a future purchase.

Problem is the new provider is a Sonicwall house not a Cisco house. Not sure a credit would do us any good.
