It's about time

looks good guys... gonna bring it downto the farm to test it out in a few weeks?
Yeah, we'll definitely drive it down, not sure how much of those trails it will see....Looking forward to the event though

Thanks for all of the comments and help, especially Mr. Beard and Mr. Johnson. I definitely owe you fellas one (or several).

Hopefully I'll get some photos and possibly video this weekend to see if all our efforts have been in vain :driver:

im actually planning a similar buildup with the hp44/9 combo (hopefully in the coming months). just wondering...how are the road manners on that detroit? had much of a chance to try it out?

looks good tho

looks good, very nice work, any plans on a cage?
Possibly, I've got to give the henchmen and my wallet a break for the time being...

I'm not sure yet though; I'm not exactly set on an exo, maybe some sort of internal cage and a few external sliders (Something over the roof to tie into)

Thanks for the comments!

I've got the "soft" version of the detroit and I absolutely love it! On road manners are nearly unnoticeable. It doesn't click, it doesn't unlock and jerk the rear. You don't know its there until you step on the gas. Again, I'm completely satisfied with it and then some. Thanks for the comments!

Oh, and good luck with the swap, definitely post some pics of the progress!

How long did your lowers end up being, eye to eye?

Just finished watching that clip

...pretty freaking hilarious....

Thanks to everyone for all the comments and support. I've now got an Aussie for the front axle on the way (compliments of cj777) and also picked up a pinion guard (for the 9") from Scott @ MudPro.:bounce2:

So hopefully we'll get these items added soon and have a few more photos up. I might post some video up, just depends on how much time is available this coming week

Few updates...

So far, everything is holding together (knock on wood)

well...the MTR's didn't last too long - we put a root through a sidewall, and completely ruined that tire :gay:

But, I scored a deal with a friend and landed a set of pretty good shape 38" TSL's and absolutely love them.

I ran the stock shafts with 760's tack welded in for a few weeks, but it was time to upgrade. To cope with the extra tire size, as well as one that actually gets traction, a set of Yukon 4340's and super-joints were added to the front 44. Hoping this will hold the 44 together with the 38's.

Got sick of the axle hop commonly and rightly associated with the radius arm and y-link design, so we added some Rancho 9000 XL's from Brandon at Rides to dampen the problem. It ended up fixing the problem entirely as far as I'm concerned.

After crushing in a good percentage of the passenger side rocker panel, we also decided to attach some LB engineering rocker guards.

We're getting ready to assemble some bead-locks this week from Ballistic Fabrication, so I'll try to post some shots as the work progresses on those.

I never linked any videos like I said I would, so here are a few from the youtube page:
