So been working in the new house. The people we bought it from only lived here for a year and a half, but the people who they bought it from lived here for almost the life of the house. The guy built the shop to store his cars, from what the neighbors told me, he had four cars in it. An original Shelby Cobra (seriously), an original 69 Camaro Pace Car, and two Mustangs. He also had some other toys. He died like 5 years ago and I don't think anyone really maintained the yard down in the area of the shop since then. When we moved in I couldn't even pull my truck around the back of the shop, there was so much overgrowth. Then the neighbor told me the guy used to keep a bass boat and a trailer for his cars back around the side. I became determined to figure out how. I began blowing the leaves into a pile, which quickly grew to be as large as my S-10 Blazer. I then burned the pile and began to clear out the brush, cut down a few small trees with the chainsaw, and pulled up the hundred or so tree sprouts back there. The further I got the more I could see where the gravel of the driveway went to. There is one more tree that I need to cut down before I can get my trailer around the back, but the truck fits through smoothly now!

Also cleared out the area around where I keep my Blazers. Before it just fit the two S-10s, but now I could probably get four in there. Will get pics tomorrow. Also am almost done getting the shop cleaned and organized.

Its nice to find good surprises at a new house!

I was hoping you'd say you cleaned up and found another Cobra out back :D It's pretty awesome to have breathing room all the way around a shop. Mine was all grown up behind it and I went back there a few years ago with my weedeater and a good, sharp, blade and cut about a 6 foot wide space behind it to keep the vines from growing up the sides and to help keep the wood siding a little more dry. If it were up to me, out entire property would be clear. I'm all about being able to get a truck or trailer anywhere I need to in my yard.

I really need to get a bulldozer in and level out in front of the shop a little bit. Not sure why they didn't level it there more when they built it, but I'd like to push it out from there over to the side of the shop where it falls off a bit to make a little extra space for parking the truck and the trailer on the one side.

That's down the list, gotta get the upstairs in the house finished off before I do any major work on the shop area.

Why do you need a house? I'm confused...

Yeah, I guess they need to feel spoiled some times! :D
