Anyone know if when you buy a whole cd on itunes if no matter how old the music is if it's remastered, for exsample old metallica cds are recorded lower than new ones, so like master of puppets cd would not be as loud as say the newest metallica cd.

The term "re-mastered" is when the record company goes back to the original studio recording, with however many tracks it was (20 or more), and re-mixes a 2-channel version of it.

So no, that's not what happens. If you're strictly talking level, there's more level compression going on these days to keep the overall volume louder. Musicians used to not do this to more accurately capture the variances in the songs, but now it's all about being loud.

That help?

I see what you are saying, but does that mean the itunes are going to be the a better or louder than a older cd comparision?

Everything I've bought off of iTunes sounds fine. The bit rate is 256 kbps and the sample rate is 44.100kHz so the sound is pretty clear.
