So my daughter has a '13 JK. Crazy things are happening in her dash lights and heat and A/C. She doesn't live close enough for me to see the issues but we've been going back and forth about it.
She had new halogen or some kind of headlight installed and from what I've learned, there are temperature sensors in them or near them and it seems that the shop that did it, either removed them or didn't reinstall them when they switched out the lights. Also they just used BUTT connectors into the factory wiring harness. So JK people that have changed out headlights, what did you do to work around this sensor issue?
Are the sensors actually IN the headlights? Daughter is pretty vague with details. She took it to a competent friend's shop and I talked to him and got the information about it but we still need to know how to get it back to normal.
Thanks

If they are hid's that is more than likely the issue. I seen a JK do done weird shit with them installed. Radio volume quit working along with something else related. My best guess is it has something to do with the can-bus stuff and the vehicle just freaks the fuck out and didn't know where to send power.

My advice would be to remove them. I have seen no issues with the "brighter" halogens. However the hids, leds, etc. Have caused anumber of issues. I have replaced at least 3-4 blown tipms caused by these. Just my .02

If they're aftermarket HIDs, get rid of them if they're in the stock reflector housings. There's no way to make the beam pattern and cutoff pattern proper in a housing designed for the light dispersion pattern of halogens. Plus, no one wants to pay for proper HID quality, so they buy the cheap ones and they die really fast because the quality sucks.

Unless she likes blinding people.
