will a j4000 44 front fit in a tj if not what 44s will?

I believe thats a fullwidth. I guess you could say anything would fit under a TJ, but if you want to keep it roughly the same width as you're running, then go for waggy 44s. But if you want a wider width, go fullwidth. Its not so bad.

Anything "will" fit, but the only 44 that is going to bolt in without mods (either to the Jeep, or the axle) is going to be a Rubicon 44.

x2 - the large majority of 44s have spring perches, and the one you need needs coil buckets. The rubicon 44 has the same width buckets, etc.

the j4000 front would be a passenger drop, so unless you'd be swapping tcases or retubing it you might want to check into other axles. like it was mentioned earlier, wagoneer axles will work. there's actually a set in the classifieds

If you did want to go full width you could do a ford high pinion 44 and find a full width rear.

i got a dd waggy 44 already set up for a tj with 4.10's and a limited slip with lock out warn hubs if you wanna drop the dough on it
