[Jan 4, 2013] First Ride of 2013,..The Flats Benefit Jan 4-6th 2013 (Marion NC)

Thanks Rock Corps for putting on this event. I had a great time as usual. The weather was perfect.

I broke a rear drive shaft u-joint on 'Ol Stumpy' around mid day, but had it fixed in minutes with my spare DS. Later on in the afternoon I broke my left rear axle shaft on the 'last trail of the day run', lol.

I'm already looking forward to next time.

What an awesome turnout! Pulled in after noon and the parking area was FULL! Great seeing everyone, hopefully my rig will be ready for the next ride! I will say the recipients of the benefit were more than humbled by all of the supporting wheelers!! Great Job Rock Corps!!

As always a good time... Had some excitement to watch on super man today for sure. Glad everyone is safe and already looking forward to the next event there. Thanks Rock Corps

Hate to have missed this..everyone, and I mean everyone is sick with the flu here.
About the same here, Sara woke up just before midnight Thursday sick with a stomach virus. I wasn't far behind. Spent most of yesterday asleep or sick, hoping I'd feel better in time to drive up. Sorry we missed it but heard it was a good day!

How difficult was the recovery on Super Man? I hope driver and machine are in good shape.

The first ride of the year left me needing some wrench time. Bent a main leaf on the front. Rear axle acts like there is a locker even though it was welded  . I got home and proceeded to get trailer and tow rig stuck in the yard. Unloaded and pulled it out w the Cruiser.

Trails were great and lots of folks came out to play. Benefit looked like a success.

Thanks Rock Corps for the opportunity!

I had a great time, rough start on I40, lost a wheel on the hauler on the way up, unloaded there and limped to the Flats, wheeled the jeep a little, grilled a little (Wheelin & Grillin) and I won TWO raffle prizes !!! So my luck got better by the end of the day.

Was a more expensive trip than I could afford, should have been managable but it really wasn't at the end of the day.

Went home last night and left the jeep for my brother and a friend to play with.

Had a blast, will be back in April if funds allow.

hope you guys were able to raise some money for the familes as it looked like a great turn out! I had a very disapointing day though due to breakage at the first thing i hit Saturday mourning. Pretty sure it was a previous trip and just finished it off there. First time my wife came with me too. She was blew away by the place and all the nice rigs and people. Only wheeled for 10 minutes and she is hooked and ready to go back in April. Tore down the truck today and found a shattered center pin in the lock rite locker. Time to order Detroit i guess and get ready for April run at the Flatts! Thanks again for a great place to wheel and to loganstoy for the pic and the trailor!

Had a great 3 days there. Thanks for all who came out and showed their support. I am ready to get back to work on some small fixes before April. We left the property about 3 hours ago and everything was in good shape. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the trails

^^^ everything was in good shape except your seat belt which had to be cut to extract you from your rig:D shoulda bought a jk.

Great weekend. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported a great cause.
