[Jan 4, 2013] First Ride of 2013,..The Flats Benefit Jan 4-6th 2013 (Marion NC)

Just to let everyone know. The co-beneficiary of this event, Robbie Barrett who had cancer, was moved Monday to Hospice Monday morning, she passed away Monday evening at 9pm. Rock Corps BOD will be meeting to discuss what and how we are going to handle this.

We have trails that range from mild to wild. Plus we have some open areas that we call the playgrounds. There is enough to do there for whatever size rig you have. We have primative camping but hotels are within 1 mile. 70 acres filled with trails and obstacles!

**UPDATE**
Since the passing of Robbie, we have looked elsewhere for a co-beneficiary. We found a need just out side of our club, but also connected to us too. The cousin of two of our members, passed away recently. He was 16 yrs old, and had fought a very long hard battle with a brain tumor. He passed with a cheerful heart, and had long had a love for Jeeps and wheeling. The funds raised for him will go to aid his family who did not have the money to complete the expense of his passing. While we know we can't take all of the burden, we can surely lighten the load.

We have already had some stuff donated for a raffle to aid these two families. We would like more, a lot more! So if you have a business that could pass on some items, or you have some good used stuff, or maybe you'd like to buy something, and donate it. Bottom line, the more we have, the more tickets will be sold. So if you can help, Please contact me, or any of the Rock Corps Board members or general membership, and let us know. If you can't get it to us, we will do our best to find a way to get it here, but would prefer, that you come join in the fun yourself of course!

Raffle prizes are comming in.

Tube Chassis From what I understand, this is a base chassis. What you put into it will be your choice
tuner for a 6.4 Ford
some universal fender flares
Exhaust jack
Tail light converter
Battery Brain

Everyone knows about Dylan Wiles sister doing the pencil sketches. She will be on hand to do these at this ride. You can also send a pic to Dylan for her to bring with her, or since time is limited, you can give her a pic while there and get it at a later date. She will be donating $5 for each pic she does and also donating a pic for someone to win at the raffle!

Speaking of the raffle, we are going to do it a little different this year. This time, there will be a container set up for you to put your ticket in. This way if there is only a couple of items you want to win, then you choose which item. In other words it will be a like a whole bunch of small raffles. You do not have to be present to win, but, it will be up to you to put your name, and phone number on the ticket that you place in the container.

Got mine in the mail yesturday. Man I must say this girl is talented. Pic was taken by someone at Gulches. If you dont have one get her to do one, they are worth the money. :)
 
Amanda will probably not actually be doing the sketches on site..more like showing off some works and taking photos and hopefully taking orders for some to be done after the event.

There is plenty of time right now,before the event, to have your own ''pencil pix'' made, in time for the event.
For every one she sales at the event(drawn before the event)..she will donate 5 dollars to the cause. For every pre paid order taken at the event, she will donate 5 dollars to the cause.

Not sure how to donate 5 dollars from non paid orders, taken at the event..?

Someone will recieve a free ''pencil pix'' certificate during the raffle!

Pencil pix are 50.00 framed, matted, and ready to hang!
