Japanese Mini Trucks

What does it take to get one imported at titled? Whats the towing capacity? Whats the payload capacity?

Best suggestion would be to find an old thread vs starting a random new one.

Anyway, info is welcome, so start informing us!
And a venders star cause I see a solicitation for goods or services coming.

OP is a good guy.
I've mentioned him here before...

Are front lift kits available so they can have the squat? What is the best size light bar for them? Can you fit a couple subs behind the seat? How big of a stack can you put in the bed?

Hey, I just got an email about activity. New to this. Never joined a forum. Mostly because the ones I've read turn argumentative and hostile. Just figured since I've been selling Kei trucks for 12 years, and I personally got them street legal in NC 3 years ago, that I would join up and pass on knowledge of the subject to interested parties. I'm not here to sell anything, although I do sell Jap mini trucks for a living.

Hello, it can be a pain to import these as an individual. It can be risky. You don't really know the seller and you have to pay 100% before it ships. Also, it's hard to determine true condition from some pictures. I've gone through several suppliers to get people I trust in Japan.
Re: Towing capacity- depends on the speed you want to tow at. A dual range transfer case truck can tug a lot around a field or job site. I have personally towed 6,000 lbs with my personal Suzuki in low range. This is not an embellishment!
Of course tongue weight was reasonable . Which leads to the payload question-In stock form I'm comfortable with 1,000 ish pounds. With 3 inch lift(more spring travel) I'd say 1,500 ish. I do overload springs with lift to get upwards of 2000. Again , this would be suited to a dual range truck in low range.

I would love to have one, but the prices I see are always way too high.

I think way too high is a relative thing. Compared to a worn out Ford Ranger... They are high. But, compared to UTV's etc... They are a bargain. They're automotive quality and durability , while being utilitarian enough to replace the ATV, UTV products. Now that they are street legal, they can also take the place of the Ford Ranger.
I recently had a man buy a truck from me for his big farm operation. He has 5 Kubota UTV on the farm. 2 relatively new that he paid near 20K each for. Within a month he came back and bought another. He stated that he would never have bought the Kubota's if he'd know about the trucks sooner. He paid me $6500 each for 2 trucks with AC , 3 inch lift, new 14 inch wheels and tires, fully refurbished and serviced.
All relative

Props to @Gunn for coming back and posting after the welcome he got. But...there are lots of drive-by spammers in the forum world.

I am 6'2, 220-ish....would I fit in one of these danged things?? Have considered one vs. UTV for running to the mailbox, etc.

I'm 6' 240 and I roll in and out all day. That said I've seen 5'10" 185ers act like you couldn't shoe horn them in. There's actually a technique to it. A lot of it is actually where you carry your height/weight. Super long legs have the most problem. Long torso, medium to short leg is easy fit.
Huge mid section...You will rub the wheel.
