I need a sye and decided t go with the jb customs super short sye with the tom woods drive shaft. i found the product at http://www.offroadtoystore.com/Merch...e=JB-161201-TW
It mentions a few things i had some questions about. It says one has the choice of a "boot" or "cap" i am not quite sure what they are talking about. also i read that you have to measure from the output shaft to the rear axle. is this from the end of the output or from the large round piece of the slip yoke at the back of the t-case? Lastly how difficult is this to install? If you have on and installed it your self let me know your thoughts, or if i should just pay some one to install it, do i need a bearing press? i installed my lift so i am some what mechanically inclined, along with several of my friends. sorry about the length and i appreciate all of your help

They aren't anymore difficult to install than any other SYE.
aka, take your time, be careful.
Piece of cake.
Some say leave the tcase in, i say take it out.
I'm to fat/tall/big to work under my jeep. I have a work bench for a reason.
I need to order mine tomorrow, and then put it on.
But I'm just going front wheel drive for a bit to measure and then order the DS.

Oh yea, and I think it's Tom Woods site, has a picture of exactly where to measure.

I installed a JB super short in my TJ. It was pretty easy. You'll need an assortment of snap ring pliers from my recollection.

I left mine in to do the install. Also did the same on a friends TJ.

These pics may help: (All from tom woods site)

It is fairly simple to do. I did my own about 3 years ago and did another one a couple weeks ago. Take your time and follow the instructions and you should be fine. Also, I would recommend using the Superlift TruSpeed over the Dakota Digital signal converter. The TruSpeed is more money but it is a much better product.
