Hi, I can't find anything in the TSM or other places that says what this hole is for. Anyone know?

I guess I just need to plug it up then. This is the original bellhousing and transmission. I bought the Jeep in pieces and I never saw what was in that hole. If anyone else has this situation I'd like to see what is plugging it up.

I swapped pulled the T150 out of my 77CJ7 and replaced with a CJ T18. After reading that link on pirate, I vaguely remember going to NAPA for some wheel studs of various sizes to fit in that hole for the T18 swap. That was almost 20 years ago, I have no idea what mine looked like with the T150 in there.

You made me Look! My 79 CJ, 304, that came with the 3 sp., I replaced with a T-18 from a 78 CJ 6cly. My T-18 has two mounting holes Close together on the drivers side. That "Hole" has a stud in it with a nut holding the tranny. The bottom hole that Your T-18 is bolted to, is Not used on mine. My T-18 doesn't have the bottom hole mount. I guess their different years of T-18, or you got a Ford version. I don't see any reason to close the hole. Bellhousing is not sealed.
The Pirate site shows the holes & were the stud goes.
