Running a 95 YJ, 2.5 liter, 5speed, 231.

I'm planning a few quick updates before the season starts. One of which is is a flat belly.

The simple question is , will the motormounts take the twist? I'm assuming about 4-6 degrees to get the t-case above the frame rails.

Thanks
CJ

I made some motor mount risers out of some 2" tubing on The Krawler so I could flatten the belly. Seemed to work fine.

Unfortunately, to flat belly a yj without cutting out your floor, you will need at least a 1" body lift, and a 1" motor mount lift. It may be different depending on your application. My suggestion would be to drop your skid plate and jack up your transfer case until it's flat with your frame to get a better idea of the clearance you'll need.

I realize the floor will be butchered. I'm also tying my seats into the cage so the floor can be hacked as nessisary.

The question is can the motor mounts take the twist. I don't want to raise my cog any more than nessisary.

If I understand what you want to do, I think it would be easier to fab some sort of adapter that would take some of the twist/binding out of the motor mount area. My concern is that the jarring it will take as a race rig will cause the mounts to fail......at some point.

Thanks. That's what I was getting at.
