Jeep Cherokee oil pressure gauge question

hi all

so i just got my jeep, and i noticed that the oil gauge fluctuates while driving...

when driving, say on the highway, it stays put at the mark above 40.

while at a stoplight, or stand still, it goes down to the mark below 40

i am putting in 5.7 qts of 10w30 syn blend Valvoline oil, i'm just wondering if this is something that is natural with jeeps, or is my oil pump going out
