Jeep CJ steering gear box blues!

I have an '81 Jeep CJ8. i just replaced the power steering pump and now i noticed that the steering gear box is leaking. it looks like it is leaking on an adjustment nut which is accessible from the top of the front bumper. the nut has an allen-style adjustment screw inside. what is this for and does anyone know how stop the leak?

that adjustment nut adjusts the play in the sector shaft. here's a link to a writeup on a saginaw rebuild, or if you go with a re-man box u can upgrade to a j20 box. you just need to change the coupling on your steering shaft to match the j20 box.

Buy a new or reman box. Stop leak is a temp fix. It most likely is leaking because the box is worn out not just a seal. Save yourself time and headaches and just replace or rebuild it.

hey, thanks for all of the advice, but i fixed it! i removed the nut, cleaned everything real good, and put the nut back on using some thread sealant... no more leaks!
