07 Commander non Hemi 2wd - from time to time, while driving, the entire dash lights up and the speedo dies. All of the warning lights come on and the DIC goes nuts with warning messages like Trans Temp etc. There isn't any hesitation or erratic feeling from the drivetrain and the Trans temp shouldnt be high, since its done it once just after startup and leaving a parking lot.

This is the second time it has done it in two weeks.

Westgate (where she bought it from about 2 months ago) has it currently and cant find any codes stored or anything wrong even when re-setting everything and putting it through a drive cycle. The first shop it went to, they did the same thing and recommended taking it to a dealer since they couldn't re-create the problem.

Any input would be appreciated. Trying to help one of my co-workers get to the bottom of this one since the shops haven't had any real insight yet.

I remember seeing this same issue many times back in the day.
A few things I used to see that would cause this:
How is the battery state of charge? If it is at all marginal, it will cause numerous wacky electrical gremlins on those (and WK Grands too). Look for poor connections and loose connections.
There are most likely numerous flash updates available for the CCN, BCM, TIPM among others. I would basically update each of those as a preventative measure just to be safe.

Really, a new battery fixed it more times than not.

same thing was happening on my grandmothers caravan.[warning lights,speedo jumping,etc]. replaced the battery problem solved. van would still start fine as battery wasnt completely gone

Thanks guys for all your input. A good cleaning of the battery terminals which were filthy and a new battery and so far it hasn't done it again even after a drive to Charlotte and back this weekend. Still going to keep an eye on it but so far so good.

Dont get me started. I bought one of these for my wife a few years ago. We kept it for two years, and out ofthese two years, it stayed in the shop approximately 8 months. I would love to see all of them burn to the ground. Ours was 4x4 with a Hemi, but it still had TONS of electrical issues.

@Jody Treadway
Are these still using a lot of multiplex wiring? If so i could see low volatage being a huge issue!
