i just bought a 93 cherokee sport 4.0 manual it has a 97 4.0 engine in it . when i bought it , it didnt have a computer so i bought a computer for a automatic and it wont idle . i was told by a few that this would matter and im looking for some advise as to what my problem might be or if i should just buy a new ecm for a manual ?thanks for the help

Seems like I remember reading that it requires a different TPS. That may only be Renix motors, so don't quote me on that. Might be worth reading up on though.

It's the map sensor maybe? Perhaps when the motor was swapped they forgot to change it back to obdI? ObdI sensor is mounted on the firewall, obdII is mounted on the throttle body. Shouldnt effect idle, but be sure the O2 sensor is plugged in as well.
