jeep grand cherokee hvac problem

[1983Bronco]

1995 jeep grand cherokee orvis edition with digital hvac controller, does not like up or do anything, fan works if you hot wire it, also display below that tells you if there are any problems(low coolant, door open, etc) does not work as well, checked all the fuses and such, everything seems to be ok, pluged in the hvac controller to a friends limited jeep, and it works fine, any ideas or common fixes,thanks in advance. The wires going to the controller have power, just not sure if it is in the right place, everthing looks stock,
