I just finished putting together my daughters "Jeep Hurricane" for christmas. This thing is really neat. It has a real fm radio, cup holders, 16" offroad style tires, two seater with adjustable seat, and "ultimate terrain traction." In the last pic i posted you can see that the rear axle shaft is, pound for pound, stronger than most of our axles. With the 16in tires and a locked rear end, we're going to put this thing to the test!

Well I guess I'll have to modify Jianna's jeep to keep up with that on your rock pile LOL

That thing is cool

i saw on the internet where someone did a 12-to-24v conversion. it makes it incredibly faster. that's not what i want though... the thought of my daughter going 10+ mph with a road just a couple hundred feet away isnt very comforting. we'll keep her crawling.

I agree, I'm thinking of more travel & front wheel assist

agree'd thats weird tho cuz my brother got one as a bday gift a few months back, and his isnt metal, its closer to a strong plastic. i wonder if they had a recall or something

The rear isn't locked. It will spin just one tire. My son has the blue version and has a year of wheeling on it so far.cage 2 015 smaller.JPG
He still loves it. I have an extra battery and a quick charger, he can ride all day.

I good friend of mine has probably 12 of these type toys for his kid. He picks them up used and sometimes not working and replaces the battery with a 12V lawn mower battery. Runs faster, stronger and charges a lot quicker.
I found some brand new lawn mower batteries at the flea market for him for $10 a piece. Wally World is $20 plus trade in, so, he was happy

daughter has one of these and a barbie jeep...Hell she has 2 Jeeeps that run daddy has 2 jeeps that dont :(

The difference in the axle is the retail version.
WalMart gets a plastic axle everyone else gets a metal one.

On the ERTL gators the Walmart version has a much lower output electric motor that drives a solid axle while
the others have 2 independent electric motors, with one connected at each rear wheel.

This is probably one area more than any other that WM screws consumers. Sure its $10 cheaper, but is has $40 cheaper parts on it....

And the local WM even has a NON WM display. Im not sure the story behind it, but you cant find one on the shelves that matches the display, talk about your bait and switch. the question is do they send them a special display or did some manager go to another store....

try the 24V conversion! it's soo awesome. My friend and I picked up a powerwheels jeep and 4 wheeler off the side of the road, and threw in the cheapest lawn mower batteries from walmart, then hooked up a car batt along with the lawn mower one for 24v and it was FAST, and fun. On the normal lawn bat 12v we cruised for just about an hour, and i weigh over 200lbs! we tried 36 volts, and that was just crazy. Only had speaker wire to connect, so before they burned out it was so fast that i would spin the tires on take off, or if i leaned back it would pop a wheelie. way fun.
