Jeep lift Question

yep. but i think grand coils on a regular cherokee will give more than the 6" of lift.

The coils will work. They will net a little more lift on an XJ though. You will need the control arms for the lift also. You will need leaf springs for the rear. You will need an SYE for the tranfer case and new rear drive shaft. You will need either long arms or control arm drop brackets for the front.

thanks for the info, i decided i dont need that much lift. if anyone has a used 4" lift for a 92 xj let me know. i just dont have the money to buy a new one

for a real budget 2" lift, try a set of $30 coil spacers up front and $30 blocks on the rear. Hockey pucks to extrend the front bumpstops, square tube stock to space the rear bumpstops down, remove rear sway bar, trim the front fenders, hammer fold rear fenders, add 33" tires...rock on

2" block in the front + stock v8 zj coils should net you right around 4" of lift in the front. you would need drop brackets or longer CA's and longer bumpstops and brake lines tho

to get that lift for the rear you can use s10 or dakota springs. cut the eyes off the main leaves, take apart your stock spring pack and clamp the leaves from the s10 or dakota onto the main xj leaf and that should get you in the 4-5" area. you're gonna need longer brake lines and a sye if you go that high tho.

cheapest method to fit bigger tires is just to trim the fenders as mentioned above.

Didn't see this thread till I was recntly looking for some dakota leaf springs for a cherokee, my buddy has a some coils from a zj, we sold the front 2 to a buddy yesterday, I beleive they are 4.5 inch lift coils, so on an xj maybe a 6 inch lift, you wont for sure need an SYE, I ran a 6 inch and 33's with no sye fine, when I went up to 8 inches it became a must.
Shoot me a pm if your interested or still messing with this.
