I have had an oil leak plaguing my jeep for a while now, its a 93 grand cherokee, 4.0 litre, and I finally found the leak. The only thing is, I dont know if its repairable, im sure it is but I have no idea where to begin. So if anyone could shed some light on the situation that would be great. Heres some pics to show the leak location:

That is a clean shot, I had wiped the spot clean (somewhat) with a rag.

This is a shot after I cranked the jeep up and the oil began to seep out.

I hate to tell you this but all jeeps leak. Esp one that is 15 years old. Your leak seems to be from around the filter adapter. There should be a bolt through the middle of it or it might just spin off. There should be a gasket there.

I know all jeeps leak. I had an 89 xj before this one, it went through a quart a week, rear main seal. I found this leak not to be the rear main seal though. I figured there had to be some sort of gasket there, Ive looked for a bolt but dont recall seeing one, is the bolt visible only after removing the filter itself?

There's an allen head bolt right where the arrow is pointing in this picture. It's tough to get to, but you can.

That's common... the oil filter adapter o-rings are leaking. Just pull that allen bolt and it'll fall right off. The problem can be finding the right o-rings. Ask me how I know. There are two different sizes but the Felpro catalog only lists one. Don't fool with your local McParts store. Go to Napa. They should be able to hook you up.
BTW It's a lot easier to get to from underneath.

the allen key is gonna suck, lots of people end up making a tool to do it with. I lucked out, the '91 cherokee I have had a hex bolt
