OK I know, I should know this.
But, what year did the CJ's start being "JooP" instead of "Jeep"
on the side?
Was telling someone the other day, now I am second guessing myself

The way I understand it, over the years they updated the dies as they wore out. So, you will have clear "Jeep" stampings in the years after "Joop".

Mid-year in 84 they switched to Joop for good.

I think Joop appeared on 84 -85 tubs. The demise of the 'ee' probably wasn't necessarily a worn out die, someone probably just realized it would be cheaper to make Joop dies for whatever reason (to repalce worn old dies, increased produciton, change of supplier...). They'd be covered with Jeep decals, who's gonna notice

OK then it seems I was wrong, (again) I was thinking like 81 was last year of Jeep, and Joop from then on.

There are people that claim to have "Jeep" on one side and "Joop" on the other. There are also people with mixed up letter like "Jeop" and "Joep" stampings.
