Hey,
I was looking on eBay for a new nv3550 or 4500 before mine is giving me problems that I dont even want to get into to. I am putting more money everyday into this Heep and want the drivetrain to be in good working order. I was about to get one a eBay and them I remember what my Dad told me. "If you ever have a problem with a vehicle and you have to buy an exspensive part check with the dealer to make sure it is not an open recall." so I type in 2000 TJ 4.0 recall and I get a few hits for things like soft top and manifold and then I find a recall on the NV3550. I go to a few website to verify and only about half the sites show the tranny recall. Anyone have any experience on this? Or even better, has anyone did this recall yet? I know a few of you have the 2000 TJ with the 4.0 which was the first year of the nv3550. P.S. The guy on Advance Adapters that sells atlas II sort of disappointed me. I was ordering the new 4 speed atlas and he was convinced that my Jeep had the ax15 and said the nv3550 started in 2003. You would think he would know this right?

man, that sucks. . .there were a few on my 04. . .

Be careful not to get recalls and Technical Service Bulletins mixed up. But really any DC Dealership should be able to reference any recall notice or TSB for your model.

If I remember correctly, there was a TSB about the shifter detent, but Ive never heard of a recall. The NV3550 from an 02 that is currently in my 00 seems to be a little better. But maybe it lived an easier life. Also, Ive got a pair of NV3550s for sale, check your PM's.
