So I have a list of all the crap that I need to carry along with me on my next wheeling trip. But I have to find enough room to be able to store it all. I was thinking about building something like this http://www.quadratec.com/products/24251_101.htm . Has anyone built something like this for their jeep. What do yall do?

Well my seat is out and I have a crappy box in the back now. But I was looking something permanate (SP?)

i just take my back seat out. it´s kind of a pain but it sure beats breaking and not having what i need.

Ditto.

One of my wheeling buddies has one of those drawers and it will work great for an emergency toolkit but if you need to bring spares, a more extensive set of tools, recovery gear, etc it just isn't enough room.

Load it in back and strap it all down so it doesn't hit me in the head if something unexpected happens.

When mine was a full bodied CJ-7, I had built me something to carry stuff. I had a piece of plywood behind the seat to keep things from rolling under my feet from the rear storage. Another piece of plywood that went across the fender wells, and Eye bolts in the top piece. Plenty room underneath, and could strap stuff to the top of it. I could carry so much that it made it back heavy and had little traction on the front tires.
I have also seen guys with two plastic type storage boxes in the back, bolted down. Seemed to work well.

My TJ had the rear seat removed, and the previous owner had built a wooden box that was just narrow enough to squeeze between the wheelwells. Took up the whole rear of the Jeep, from behind the front seats all the way back to within inches of the tailgate. Was about a foot tall. Lid was hinged with a prop rod, and he had it opening to the front, but I flipped the box 180 so it would open to the rear.

Had everything in there except my toolbox and one towstrap and my hi-lift. Spare axles, spare fluids, extra straps, spare unit bearing hub, shovel, bottle jack, some bigger tools, etc.

I could strap my toolbox down on top of it. He carpeted the top so his dog could lay on it when he wheeled. I was thinking of raising it up off the floor so that my 9.5-inch wide 33-inch spare would fit under it and I could get it off the tailgate. But I sold the Jeep before I did that.

I don't think I have any pics of it, but if I find some, I'll post them.
