Jeep TJ 4 cylinder owners?

I have a question

power distribution box that holds all the relays, some fuses

the wiring harness that comes from under the box has a big wire with a plug in connector, what does this wire do? where does it go? Its a single plug, gray in color

i think alternator. hook battery up & c if it's go power.

the wire that you are talking about comes out of the control center, and hooks to the alternator

I think its the wire that goes to the S terminal on the starter, and its faded purple in color
