Jeep TJ Lift question

ok, a few years ago I put a 4" lift on my ride; which included longer sway bar links (front and rear) drop pitman arm, rear track bar relocation bracket, front adjustable track arm, transfer case drop, bigger shocks etc. I want to lower my ride and just have a 2" lift. If I do lower the jeep how many of the above items will I need to discard and go back stock with? I'm running on 31's now. Appreciate any help. Thanks

You are currently running 4 inches of lift and 31" tires?

I think you could loose the extended sway bar links, pitman arm, track bar bracket. Some people say you might need a t case drop with 2 inch lift, but I didnt.

I agree with all of that. You might want to keep the tcase drop to help with driveline vibrations. If the vehicle is wheeled, you will bottom out the rear driveline u-joints at full droop with a 2.5" lift and no MML or SYE, but that doesn't sound like an issue based on the OPs description.

For the first decade of the TJ, the Rubicon Express budget boost was probably the most prolific way to lift a TJ. It consisted of 4 2" spacers and 4 shocks and some extended bumpstops that you didn't really need to use. That was it. Some people had driveline vibe issues, but most did not. I'd say get rid of everything and then do a SYE if you have driveline vibes.

I’ve seen those kits and several others that are similar. I’ve wondered if I went with the “budget boost” if would eventually need some of the parts that I’m in question of removing like the pitman arm, t case spacers, sway bar links. For better driving/handling etc.

If you haven't decide on what springs to use for 2 inches of lift I would be happy to share what I run. I would advise that over 2 inch spacers any day.

Not really. Drop pitman arm actually makes your geometry worse unless you also drop the mounting point for the front trackbar, which you don't want to do because then that bracket will probably hit the front spring mount and limit uptravel. The rear trackbar relocation bracket isn't needed at 2" because the axle doesn't wrap around as much and the amount it shifts sideways is closer to the stock position than the 4" lift position. The adjustable front trackbar would be worth keeping since you already have it, but it will be adjusted basically to the stock trackbar length +0-0.5". Front swaybar disconnects are nice to have, but they don't need to be any longer than stock. Rear swaybar does very little, but I would probably leave those longer links on instead of messing with them because it has a shorter arm length than the other components and might benefit from the longer links. I'd pull the t-case drop, and try it, then if you have vibes, put it back on.
