I heard that there was a rare tcase, np231 perhaps, that had both mechanical AND electrical outputs for the speedo and computer....

does anyone know if this is true? and if so, what can i find this tcase in?

i'm trying to figure out a way to get a CJ speedo to work AND allow the OBD2 swapped engine computer to get a speed signal as well so this darn check engine light will go out..... this would be a great solution, if it existed.

i think you can use the np231, but theres a VSS that you need that does both... The mustangs in the late 80s I believe with factory installed cruise control used these..

Here is a listing of what the eletric signal needs to be:

the advance part # for the mustang should be #779-9544
i think it should look something like this

youll prob need the pigtail for the mustang sensor too though, to wire into your harness

one from like an early 90s wrangler may work as well, im not real sure... i think some others prob have tried it...

An NP242 that I have in my possession has this. I can't remember which is in my cherokee. Its just a adapter that screws in the standard mechanical hole. If you're interested in it, shoot me a PM and look to see which I have on the shelf and get some pics for you.
