jeep wj front drive shaft swap

A yoke from an XJ Dana 30 will work just fine on your WJ D30. Which transfer case does the WJ have currently? IIRC, the 242 and 247 cases have different front output yoke spline counts and sealing surface diameters.

I bought my wife's wj really cheap cause the old lady said the front axle was going out on it. Turns out it was just the drive shaft! I wound up replacing the 247 with a 231 from a xj. I had to swap the input shaft from the 247 to the 231, but it wasn't that bad. I also replaced the front yoke with a xj yoke, and found a zj front shaft the correct length. The only down side now is the 4wd indicator doesn't line up right now. If i had it to do all over again, I would find a 242 and swap it in cause you can find the shifter bezel that works.

If your WJ has a 242 you can swap a ujoint yoke from any older 242. If it has a 247 you can swap a 249 yoke from an AWD ZJ.
Easy stuff man!
