JEEP YJ PROBLEM

so me and a buddy put a transfer case in his yj lastnight because the one in it had locked up, the tcase we used was the 231j and was working when we pulled it from the previous jeep. we hooked everything up and bolted it in, we crank it up and put it in gear and it goes no where. it sounds like the tcase and trans go into gear but still acts like its in neutral, has anyone had this problem? or is there any tips someone can give me?

were the inputs on the t-case the same?
is it auto or manual?
put trans in gear(or park) and see if you can turn rear driveshaft

they seemed to be, were gonna pull it out tonight and check it out. but yeah its manual and you can put it in a gear and just roll it back and forth, just like its in neutral

sounds like a linkage issue then. try disconnecting the linkage and shifting the t-case manually.

It was the splines weren't the same,any tips on how to change the spline from the old tcase into the new one?
