Jerretxx: Something out of nothing, my 84 build

Finally finished up one half door. turned out good IMO. I put some bondo to smooth out the imprefections and make them look sleek when it is painted. Not too bad considering I only have $6.77 in them :cool:
 
trucks looking good dude.... where did you get your wheels for your taco? i got a black 2010 they'd look sweet on.
 
Jerret you should have just bought my truck man thats what you need! Good looking start though man!
 
Nothing personal meant by it, building a truck is never ending... just depends how deep you want to get into your pockets and what you intend to do with it. I just meant taking a bone stock truck and being able to track and see how far it's come in a few months or better yet year by year. I mean even if you were to by a "built" rig by someone else's standards, there's always going to be something you want to change due to personal preference. It doesn't take long for a built leaf spring rig to become a full out, linked, locked, hydro steering beast :rolleyes: Just takes time and $$$

Thats exactly why...... Believe it or not I have twice what Im asking for my truck over the years BUT like you said if someone wanted to link and maybe cutt up or exo my truck it would be a rig i would take anywhere.....I have learned it can be ALOT cheaper to buy an already built rig and then make it how you want it just my 2 cents. AT the same time though if you really want to learn then you need to build your own to start with, anyways Jerret looks like your getting it done man!
 
Don't let people talk you out of the 4.7 case. It will be easier to do ultimate duals (one 2.28 and one 4.7) later. You just slap a 2.28 dual in between the 4.7 and the trans when you're ready. My buddy wheels a 4.7 case in his 4runner with 5.29's and 36's He just uses 2nd or 3rd in the trans when trail riding and switches to 1st for obstacles. Mine is a 4.7 dual with a stock (twin sticked) 2.28 behind it. I use the stock case for trail riding and then add the dual for technical stuff. I love having the options.

I think i am going to do 4.7s, i believe while i have it out i am going to twin stick it though, what are your opinions on that?
