i just got a sugar sands jetboat (similar to a seadoo jetboat). does anybody know the laws on wearing a lifevest on one of those things? is it the same as a jetski, or a boat? i woulda thought the same as a boat, but it has a leash/lanyard like a jetski so idk.

If you wear one, it'll make it easier to find the body if something bad happens at 80mph..

Common sense would tell you that wearing one no matter what it is would be the better idea.....

future Darwin hopeful?

it'll only do like 50, its not a big V8 jetboat, just a lil 120hp 4banger

yeah Id say wear it. From what I hear the wild life officers on any lake in NC have as much jurisdiction as the typical State Patrol Officer...

not nessacary on a jet boat, just have to have one onboard for every passenger (and you)

ok thanks, the main reason i was wonderin is because it has a lanyard/leash like a PW. ive never been in a boat with one of those. anyone know of a website where i can get a def answer? or who to call?

many boats have a type of lanyard system.
My dad's Ranger even had an ignition kill that clips to your wrist.

just use common sense

Be sure you clip the lanyard to your vest so if you go overboard it kills the engine? Per a certified water rescue tec I'd wear one all the time while on it just b/c you never know what may happen but the choice is yours.

X2...id have to agree lol sadly...idk if youve ever fallin off a jetski at even 40 or 50 but it hurts to say the least..feels like hitting concrete and it feels like its ripping your limbs off sometimes...all im tryin to say is you can get knocked out on water just as fast as on land and if your unconsceinse chances are you cant swim lol so id def wear one...just my two cents...
