Joaquin Phoenix on Letterman... wow

Pretty sure he's for real, or at least has been playing that roll for several months now.
that guy is an awesome actor, I love the way he handled Letterman, sorta made Dave look like a douche, to me.
That's the beauty of having lots of cash, you can wake up one morning and decide to do and be someone totaly different if you want.

I thought Dave handled the interview well. Can't say I've done many televised interviews in my life but I would assume you are asked to come on the show. If that is true than you would think you would at least cooperate with the host and not act like you are too cool to be there. Definitely made me laugh though.

Joaquin can really act. I liked him in Gladiator and Ladder 49. I like his acting style and the roles he's picked for. Sorta similar to Val Kilmar or Johhny Depp. But by far his best was Walk The Line.... anyway back to this... I think he was doing it just to do it. For no other reason than he could...

To be honest, I wasn't impressed at all. I had grown to like him as an actor, and entertainer. But he seemed out of it. My first impression was "what is he on"? He made Dave's job difficult, looked stupid IMO, not what I expected based on his previous work.

He made Dave's job difficult

Good. Maybe he was high, maybe he was acting, maybe he just doesn't give a crap. He's got alot more press/attention by acting like he could care less. I'd rather see someone act the fool than talk about how great they are and how great their movie is like most actors on late night.

After watching the interview, I immediately thought 'Andy Kaufman' type hoax. WHo the hell knows!

if it was not a stunt then he must be one of two things. a mindless moron with no personality or a complete jackass.if it was a stunt he played it perfect it was funny a crap or atleast letterman was anyway.

I ithnk if it is a stunt, then he is definately one hell of an actor! :)
