i think a c-section is the last choice anyone should make, but for 8 babies, it seems excusable

C-section for pretty much anything > 1, actually.

Aside from the, er, tight fit , there's too great a chance of Baby#2 getting wrapped up in Baby #1's cord as he/she/it comes out. C-section is safer, and these days recovery isn't that bad. And once mom has had 1 C-section, every borth aftert hat will be done that way.

Oh and anything > 1 almost always comes preemie, so they're small anyway.
