anyone know of any local yards (raleigh area) that have any 92-97 f150/f250/f350/bronco's? i need a shifter assembly. preferrabley somewhere that lets you pull your own stuff. i figure capital truck salvage probably has some, but i'm pretty sure they don't let anyone on their yard anymore?

Trans shifter, or tcase?

It's been several mos since I was at Capital Truck.... but they'd have a tcase shifter, and they (several mos ago) would let you out in the yard.

A Ford Junkyard - isnt that also called "The dealership"?

Couldn't resist...

lol. shawn, the trans (column) shifter assembly. the shaft going down the column cracked in two. this doesn't have one of those fancy levers on the floor :flipoff2:

That's an awfully brave statement coming from a guy that drives a sheetbox Dodge.... especially considering how frequently that truck left you walking. :flipoff2:

Ivan: Um... yeah, they should have some columns... not sure how many 92-97 donors they'd have, considering the first couple that come to mind were all burn victims.

Around Goldsboro there is a place called youngs. They have a lot set aside and every Saturday from 9-1 anything at all that you can get across the scales under your own power you walk away with for $40. Doesn't matter how big or how much just as long as you can carry it across the scales

 Didn't we already hash this out? $5 says before that '05 Ford turns 240,000, it'll see the business end of a trailer more than mine has (which would be once).

Josh - do they have good stuff?

What's that? I hear you talking, but all I can hear is the turbo whistle from that Ford towing your ass home. :flipoff2:

Isn't that the truth. Why was yours being towed in the first place though?

Because it's been through about a half-dozen transmissions.

True.. But I bought the RIGHT *one*. Not my fault the previous owner kept throwing money at a turd of a tranny.

:flipoff2: Nice pic...

seems everyone around here (if they even have one) will only sell the whole damn column. guy at capital truck said it's one of the hardest columns to find. i don't understand how the hell that is considering the number of trucks ford put out during those years. this thing appears to be cast aluminum, anyone got any bright ideas for patching it back together? jb weld? i'll just throw in a cheap aftermarket floor shifter before buying a whole column at $250.

found just the assembly in michigan for $50 bucks. guess i'll grab that if i can't get the broken one rigged back together tonight.

It's probably so hard to find cause they all broke and have been replaced half a dozen times. I had the one on my EB break 3 times. Just cheap pot metal on that one though.
