I think a lot of times I am overly trusting of people in general, and especially people on this board. I've bought a lot of stuff from people on here, and always had good experiences....Until a few weeks ago.
I bought a used set of tires that were supposed to be in good condition from a guy on here near Charlotte. After driving over 2 hours in the rain at night to pick up the tires, I arrive and he has moved the tires out to the end of his driveway. So the tires are now in the dark and completely drenched...not the best way to look at tires. Not being able to see them, I asked the normal questions regarding their condition just to be sure, including specifically "Do they have any dry rot at all?" Of course the answer was no; they're fine, I just took them off my Jeep. Get them home and all four of them are dry rotted and cracking. PM the guy and let him know...no response 2 weeks later.
Now, I can accept that I'm screwed in this situation and I should have insisted to move them into a dry, lit place to inspect them before taking them, but as stated previously I tend to be too trusting in the belief that most people are decent. That's why I'm not dragging his name up and causing a scene. I just wanted to issue a friendly reminder so no one else can waste money like I did.
