Just got a new computer. What virus software do you guys recommend?

I believe I pay $60 a year after the first yr. It auto renews and covers all 3 of my pcs for that price. For a couple years now it's been the one the libs on reddit seem like the most, rather than reading paid reviews online that definitely can't be trusted. A lot of the other antivirus programs are glorified spyware themselves.

I use AVG, also recommended by the top Geek at Office Max. And I have the Paid subscription for Malwarebytes. Seems to work better than the free version. $43 yearly & auto-renews. You'll get a notification before it renews, if you want to cancel. You get some built in protection from Microsoft & Windows, if your system uses that. Not much protection though.

How do I check to see if my new computer has it?
If it's windows, it has it.

However, a lot of manufacturers install a trial version of some other software, which usually disables Defender. Down in the taskbar next to the clock, you should have a little shield with a green checkmark on it. Click on that to open the Security Dashboard, or click on the search button at the bottom left of the screen and type "Security", it'll come up. That screen will show you what antivirus is currently active.
