My Mom has a ford fusion and she was looking to get another car. I needed a car with more room and better gas mileage so I bought her car from her Yesterday (because thier insurance would expire tomarrow.) We signed the title but b/c my dads name is on the car to he could not noterize it at the time. Our plan was to take it to someone else. later that night and have her stamp/noterize it. Well that was at 3 oclock yesterday.

at 5:15 We Left her car in our store's parking lot, Fenced in. We go out to eat for 30 minutes and come back to the wierdest WTF just happened EVER.

Basically someone in a white honda lost control on a straight road, knocked two poles out of our fence (the bottom of our fence lifted up while their car ran under it) they then ran through the bushes and hit the front of my moms car.

Moms car was facing straight when we left, when we got back she was at a 45 degree angle. they ended up leaving some parts behind before they ran so we no what kind of car it was, but they had no plates so we will never find out.

Only way to fix it was for mom to pay another months insurance. And thankfully their was a witness to say the honda had no plates so her insurance can claim as an uninsursred driver

Wow... Mustve been a drunk driver cause I cant imagine someone doin that sober! You have a police report made?

c'mon now theres never a drunk with no tags running around durham lmao...sorry to hear bout your ride

Why would she have to buy another month's insurance? It was still valid as of when the accident happened, that's all that matters. Sounds like the ins. co. is trying to bilk extra $$.
and, WTF indeed.

When I was in grads chool, I parked my car at a Hardees and walked from there over to the med center where the lab was to avoid parking fees.
One day I came back to find it squashed between a big, new Dodge Ram and a very flattened Cougar. Aparently an old guy was coming off the highway and had a stroke, went straight across the street and T-boned the Cougar... my jeep was smashed on both sides. Talk about random!

The insurance is still trying to tattoo us. Witness says the car had no tags, so that means it had no insurance... Right? so that means the uninsurad driver policy will pay for it?

No, we can not prove they had no insurance just because they had no tags. (bs) so they want that 1000 dollar deductable for compensation insurance. I did not relize a ht and run would F you up this bad.

Yup, hit & run by North Carolina insurance law treats you as if you'd done the damage yourself.

Uninsured only kicks in if you have a person identified, my guess is this is because the insurance company sues them.

So, if you get hit and they take off, the incentive is to chase them. Way to encourage safety, ay?
