In a recent thread about wheeling in chatham county, I was criticized about planning, a supposed illeagal wheeling trip. I am not happy with these false accusations, so what if I haven't posted a million times, I know for a fact that the section that I wheel in the Flatwoods is 100% legal, has been for years. I don't frequent this board as much as I used to because of people accussing other people of things, When I first started coming to this site it was like a second family, now its been overun with people just rying to make them selves look good. Oh yea, there are plenty of LEGAL places to wheel in this state, and just because its not UWRE,or Tellico, doesn't make it illegal. I am sorry not everyone knows them, and thats the beauty of it. It is wrong to call me a idiot or a "poor person", thats just bad judgment, who ever said that owes me a apology, they don't even know who I am. Just because i have only been regestered a short while doesn't mean I don' know what i'm talking about. I don't think a ban is in order for me due to the fact that the part of th Flatwoods we would be whelling in is deeded to my best friend who will also be riding, we all have written and verbal agreement to ride, and hunt this land. I'm sorry to rant but this has been the final straw, why am I a problem , all I was trying to was help a guy out with some local's only info.
I wish things were like they were a few years ago, everyone was friendly, and things as well as people were not judged, NC4x4.com.....What happened?

Don't let it get to ya...he doesn't even own a truck.. :flipoff2: If you know the people and it's private land, I fail to see the problem. Just remember you have some mods. who like to have an Inet power trip, however, it's their site they can flex if they want to. Careful what you say, big brother is watching and will lock your thread. If ya still don't like it, start your own site.

In the future you might want to state for the record and for the Admin/Mods here that you do have verbal/written permission to trespass on the land that you were/are talking about on this PRIVATE forum. That should silence anyone from criticizing you. The remarks in the other thread did not sound like they were on the up and up.

Well as far as the power line trails being illegal, that is not true, we have written permission from the owner, there are even concessions set up there from time to time.

The power company leases the land with certain rules, but we abide by them also.

How could farmers grow crops and have live stock under power lines if it was all illegal?

And I know the rules, my uncle has pasture land under power lines and has several fences blocking them, he just has to give them access.
The power company actually like people using under the lines, it keeps them from having to clear it.

Another relative is in management for Randolph Electrical Association, worked his way up from being a lineman.
I guess he would risk his job to go wheeling with us on these same trails? NOT!!!

All this BS would be over if somebody would just scan one of those pieces of "written permission" and post it up....

Or is this playground style pissing match necessary?

:flipoff2:

I've got your permission slip right here. :flipoff2:

Prove it.

In your previous thread, you mentioned representatives of the property owners attempting to stop your access. You bragged that they had to give up, because you continued to find ways around their obstructions. According to your own statements, you have broken the law.

The people tried to stop everyone from wheeling but after awhile they stopped bothering us.

Maybe some have written permission to wheel this area. From your own statements, it does not sound like YOU do. Plus, if you do, I am suprised you would risk losing it by giving directions out on the internet.

As for the board, we get about two of these little incidents a year from people who decide that they have rights over land that is not their own. We do not wish to be associated with people who have so little regard for others. It makes land owners less likely to want to open trails, because they fear they will have trouble getting them closed again.

Scan my permission just to prove you guys wrong......not really worth my time. I'll just save this spot for my own enjoyment.

p.s. where did you grow up watching other kids piss on the playgound. :)
Read: Don't really have any, just talkin' out my ass. But since you got so bent about it, DON'T come over anyhow.

if you're not willing to provide proof, then you can't really get your panties in a wad about anything.

i'd be interested to see some written documentation on this also... i HIGHLY doubt any company is willing to take on that sort of liability risk. i don't doubt that there may be some agricultural concessions in some cases.

your dog wasn't in this fight.

Yes it was. Please reread the topic, understand the arguements of others and try again. I understood your points, doesn't mean I believe you, but I understood what you said. Your statement shows a clear lack of basic understanding.

I am pretty sure The Beast means the land owners not the power company. The power companies do not own the land the lines run through. They can not give permission to trespass for the general public on the power line right of ways. You would need to see the land owner/owners about that.

i'm pretty sure the utility companys don't give the land owners that sort of power, it could cause them a world of trouble/headaches. in whatever agreements are established, i would imagine the rights of the land owner to give permission to use the land as they please are revoked.

I know that it varies, but my family owned land that major lines went through and we still had all rights to the land. We could use it any way we wanted, the power company only bought the rights to have the towers there and have access to them.

Just my .02

The power line right of ways in question are just that, a "Right-of-Way". They are operated by the same company that has a power line running through the back of my property. They do not own the land. There is very little that the land owner can not still do with the land under the power lines.

One of my neighbors did have a well drilled towards the center of the right of way and he was forced to have a new well drilled on the edge of the right of way. That is the only right of way issue in 30 odd years of living there.
