so...... this was my second attempt to make it to ure opening weekend or jamboree weekend.
1st was 2012, was awaken at 4am sat morning to be told mom was being rushed to mission mem. for emergency brain sugery to try to stop an aneurysm. when we arrived the surgeon let us know there wasn't any hope. 2 yrs and 2 days later. planning on making the jamboree then my father took his last breaths wed after suffering from alzheimers and dementia since 2009. it was his wishes to stay at home. my mom and I did it together until that day in 2012. but I must say that summer was the worst yet. so I have peace knowing or believing she left here before it was too much for her to handle. dad just slowly kept getting worst. then in feb was hospitalized for a gi bleed. when returned home, just wasn't the same. lost the ability walk. and I knew was going dn hill faster. so he left me this week after the 2yrs of keeping him here with me. somethings I waited 40 something yrs to experience with my father. so it was all worth it. I would do it all again tomorrow if I had to. he was the man that instilled this passion for jeeps and wheeling in me. I grew up on the rds and mtns up this. most of the time our wheeling adventures was called hunting. but he loved his jeeps. he cut several trails out here on the farm " to cut wood" lol. but he used the same as I have since I moved out here to take care of him.
sorry guys, but yall r cheaper than a therapist. lol
but just wanted to take time and give the great man that taught me this sport or way a life so many yrs ago acknowledgement. he will be truly missed.

second hardest thing in life is losing a parent. GOD bless.

Sorry to hear about your loss. God has a plan for all of us. When you dont know what to do, He will guide you. Stay strong. My father passed away 36 days ago. He abandoned us when I was 12ish. His ashes are in my shop beside a Toyota, where he loved to be (he was an import mechanic). His ashes will be spread in the mountains where he also loved to be.

You have my condolences. Dad died when I was 16... Mom when I was 66. Young or old, there is much grief in losing a loved one.

I'm sorry for your loss and glad you shared with us.

Hope your family and friends are there to support you and your mother. Sounds like he raised a good man.

Thoughts and prayers to you guys....

Thank u guys for the support. Really think it was the sleep deprivation behind the post. Lol.
But really a send off to the man that started the passion for jeeps and wheeling n me

Sorry for your loss. I'm fortunate to wheel with my dad on almost every trip out, and get to work with and see him almost every day, and I can't even imagine what you are going though. Thinking and praying for you man. Keep your head up.

Sorry to hear this Mark. I know you guys were close. Glad you got the time with him that you did. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Again, just want to say Thank You to all of u. for your support and the other things you have done during this time.
Ive met some of what i call my best friends now on here.

I lost my grandfather when I was 18. He used to have me outside before the sun, be it fishing, splitting wood or working in the 3 acre garden he kept. That was 17 years ago, and I still live to honor his memory, teaching my son the things he taught me and adding to them what I know. It sounds like you are living what he loved and keeping his memory's with you, sorry for your loss .

yes, never wanted to name a biz using my name. but have def decided now to go with the name "Woody's Jeeps " n honor of him. also trying to get my bro involved. we r all thats left. sis passed n 04. Not saying this is a big deal. but im proud of my father.n the last few yrs. i have realized how he ended up doing so much from coming from nthn. a simple mtn man with lil to no education. he is in the patent book with some of the greats. like i said no huge deal to most. but is to me. Im proud to have been raised by him. but of course like most of us. there was a time when i thought differently. im just so thankful i was never an idiot and done anything to wrong him
