I just bought a 85 yota straight axel for a 1000 was wondering if I got a good deal it would start but would not stay running it has a short in the hot wire for the fuel pump so I cut it and ran a jumper still wouldn't stay running so I changed the relay and now it runs like a top the bed is rusted out but I've got a donor truck for the bed and the tires are to wide for the front they are tearing up the fenders the are 35x14.5 any way to fix the scrubbing issue without lifting it any more I like how it sits now with the big tires I don't want to go any smaller on tires

Looks good. I paid 1200 for my old 84 and it needed a clutch, tires and carb rebuild.
This one has a rebuilt performance 22re was rebuilt 2 years ago doesn't leak or use oil but the transfer case leaks a little and has gear work done to front and rear diffs not sure what gears are in it is there any way to tell

Not a bad deal. Nice color scheme. Grey interior?

Sell/trade the 14.5 wide tires to run 35 12.5s. Rear up front leaf swap with move the axle forward enough to clear with minor trimming. Lots of info on the internet. Start with Toyota truck 4runner Pirate4x4.com FAQ

What is the purpose of swapping the front leaf springs with the back I'm new to the straight axel front end
They move the axle forward while giving a little lift. The Toyota FAQ on Pirate has Everything you will need to learn about the truck.

That's a factory paint/decal job. My 84 is the same. The skins on that bed look pretty good for an 85, I wouldn't trash it, maybe R&R the bad spots in the floor of the bed and fix the one on the truck.

It won't have the factory paint long I've got a few modifications to do to it I've got a complete parts truck the bed on that truck is completely gone an I swapped doors so it will have the small vent windows

Killer deal on a cool tough truck! I paid about that for my old '82 and thought it a good deal til the gas tank fell out. other than that I couldn't kill it.
