I am not real familiar with the site, but I have an issue.
I am putting a chevy nv4500 in my 1986 K5 blazer. it is sitting on 39.5x16.5/16 pitbull rockers. has dana 60 front and diskbrake 14 bolt with 456 and detroit locker. I blew up the built th400 the beginning of the month. I got the spacer for the 6 bolt round 32 spline tcase. It has an internal slave cylinder. Problem is I cant find anywhere an adapter to connect the 1986 factory master cylinder to the 1996 clutch line assembly. I was going to splice the lines, but am having a hard time justifying spending over $200 on 2 clutch lines and cutting them up to make one line. Junkyards are picked clean. parts house do not and can not get the fittings so they say. Any suggestions?

If you know how long the hose between them needs to be, maybe take both the master and slave to a hydraulic hose type shop to get them to build a hose. I have no experience doing that, but it seems like it would work.

That sounds nice, but the problem I got is the internal slave cylinder has a quick disconnect fitting and the factory line I bought for it is half steel braided 3/8 line and other half is neoprene with another quick disconnect fitting on it. They might be able to make a hose that connects to the factory line. Ill check it out this week. Just had a hard time believing the parts houses around here do not have or carry adapter from metric to standard. When I get it figured out I will let you know. Thanks

I'm pretty sure Wilwood or Russel makes a fitting for those master cylinders. Should be able to find one on Summit Racing or something like that and then find the fitting for the other end and use something like -3 AN hose for the clutch line. I know the quick connect fitting is the same as the slaves that the LS powered cars use, so look around at some of those places online. I was just looking at clutch stuff on Tick Performance's website the other day, if I'm not mistaken.

If all else fails....sell me the 96+ NV4500 and go find an 95 or earlier GM NV4500 to use :D

Yep...here ya go. Just took a quick Google search and I found a thread about it on an LS powered car forum. Here's a link to the fitting for the slave cylinder. You just knock out the roll pin, remove the quick connect, and put this fitting in its place. I'd assume you're using a factory year model master cylinder, so that should have an NPT or similar fitting on it, just find the proper one and buy a length of -3 AN hose and there you go. In fact, you can buy lengths of it with the ends already on there.

Since I got my NV4500 in I have came across a deal on a 8.1 that I cloudnt pass. I know there are standalone harnesses out there. Are there any that come recomended. From what Ive seen most the builds have the 5.3 or 6.0 in them. Not sure if the wiring is the same. I am still debating on boxing the frame in.

Wiring definitely isn't the same. You'll have to get a gas pedal for it too since all of the 8.1 motors were drive by wire. They're a very large motor, physically, too and packaging may be difficult, but it's hard to say. Don't be alarmed when you notice oil missing between changes, these motors were designed with a consumption rate. Usually about a quart every 4000 to 5000 miles. They share nothing with the LS based motors except the bellhousing pattern, so swapping parts around isn't near as simple. Oh...and they're pretty heavy at about 800lbs vs 530-ish for a 6.0.
