I ran Slackware from about release 7.0 thru 10.1 and always preferred the KDE desktop. Now am running Ubuntu (Feisty) and prefer Gnome 10/1 over KDE. Also, have xubuntu set up on a 486 dinosaur (Win98 machine), in the shop, and it also does quite well. Personally, I have experienced fewer bugs with Gnome than with KDE.
