In NC for the weekend :huggy:
Need a reccomendation for a Lexington-style BBQ place that's open on Sunday (to take several lbs home w/ me).
Greensboro/K-ville area.

That's right, I need some Heathen Barbecue.

if i remember right...most BBQ places are closed on mondays. so finding one open on sunday shouldnt be a big deal.

That being said...there is prissy pollys on hwy 66 in kville between the two I40s.

My wife (born and raised in Lexington) would say, "If you are looking for Lexington Style BBQ, you need to go to Lexington." That being said, this Yankee can't tell the difference. It's all chopped up pig to me. Prissy Polly's has a good rep in that area. My buddy from church who plays in a Bluegrass band speaks highly.

You're SOL, buddy. I don't think there is such a thing. Closest you're going to find is Bib's downtown. They've got awesome pulled pork, but it isn't Lex style BBQ. And they're only open 11-3 on Sundays. Next time, call ahead. I'll get you a few pounds of good stuff on ice.

Prissy Polly's is my usual stop, especially when picking up several pounds to take back to share with the Yankees at home. However they're closed Sundays, along w/ most other good places (as Mark suggested), aparentlly the day of rest applies to good eatin' too..
Mid-day is fine.
I'll be in Southern Pines all day tomorrow (Sat) so if anything is around here I may have time to nab it before heading up.

And yeah this wasn't eaxctly planned, had to swing through for a funeral :-( but at least I get sweet tea, mexican and bbq out of it ;-)

FYI last time I was here I brought home several pounds of both Eastern and Lex style (both from Polly's) to share w/ the guys at work and compare.
The overwelming preference was for Lexington ;-)

On your way back from Southern Pines, take the time to swing through Lexington and go to Speedys BBQ.
It is worth the extra effort.

Bingo. Just about everything in Lexington is open Sunday, however, I don't know what hours. They don't call it Lexington "style" BBQ for nothing! :)

You can't go to Lexington for eastern NC BBQ! Thats like going to NY and ordering Chicago style pizza! Ya have to be east of I95 to find anything worth a damn!

Little Richards on Gumtree road (in wallburg, W-S address) is open 11-2 on Sunday's. Clarks in K-ville (on 66) may be open, I am not sure.

If Speedys isn't possible, I'd vote for Lil Richards as a close 2nd.

?? I said I wanted Lexington-style, and while I can't go there specifically I know the "style" exists other places nearby in the state...

You can keep that crap on the East side.
