pretty awesome. I used to play ball with him back in Elementary/Middle school. He was good back then, even better now.

He throws a steady mid 90 mph fast ball. They are saying he will be in the Major leagues in a short time (not spending much on a farm team)

Shoulda gotten his autograph a while ago :-/ Hes going to be a pretty good pitcher methinks.

Was your coach Mike Hatley at some point?

Oh ok. My buddy Mike was talking about this yesterday.

Bumgarner has potential to be very good. He's a legitimate arm, and throwing from the left side is always a plus!
But, he'll have to learn how to pitch a little bit instead of just blowing people away. Professional baseball is a HUGE step up from HS ball, and guys throwing 90+ are a dime a dozen at that level. So he's going to have to work his way up through the minors. I wouldn't expect him to do like Andrew Miller from UNC last year and jump to the majors within the first year.

It is pretty cool when someone you know gets popped early in the draft. I played with Cameron Maybin (10th pick 2005 Tigers), Nick Markakis (16th pick 2004 Orioles), and Chris Narveson (24th pick 2001).

I wish him the best of luck:beer:
