Long, but hang in there. It's funny.
Since we have a larger piece of property now, and we don't have a land line, it seemed to be the best option. He has been inside, and I have called him till I nearly blew a tonsil loose, and he didn't hear it. Then I have to hike back inside, and get him.
Initially the plan was to use Mint Mobile, and give him one of our old smart phones. It was going to stay inside, like a landline, because we don't want him becoming someone who can't even eat dinner with a phone in his hand.
Well, we went to the website, entered the phone information, got a reply that it was compatible, and ordered a sim card. It arrived, I put the card in the phone, did all the setup, and it didn't work.
I called Mint, told them what it was doing, and they told me it wasn't possible. I told them it was. She gave me an answer that was not helping. I told her it wasn't, and she gave the the same answer multiple times. I finally told her she needed to stop concentrating on her answer, and start listening to my question. After a bit she told me the phone wasn't unlocked.
So I called Verizon. The gal was confused. She checked all kinds of stuff. Then she told me there was no way it could be locked, because it it was too old to have ever been locked in the first place.
I decided to cancel Mint, and get him the cheapest flip phone Verizon had. She had difficulty hunting one down, but she did. Never once did she argue, or tell me I was wrong. So much better customer service.
Yesterday, his phone came in. It was set up, and I put a few important numbers in it. When I called my phone from his it didn't work. I checked my call log, and his call came up a "neighborhood _blocked". I checked the blocked call list, and his number was not on it. I added him to my contacts, and the call went through.
Then I called Steph's number. It went straight to voicemail, and she had nothing in her call log. So I called Verizon, scheduled them to call me back, and went about the day.
We went out to eat, and they called back as we drove to the resturant. He couldn't figure it out, so he put me on hold, and sent me up the food chain. I got a gal from tech support just as the waitress took our order, so in between bites, I talked to them. The first guy was stumped, and passed me up the chain. She was stumped as well.
After almost an hour, Heath piped up. He asked if I didn't realize I put her number in wrong, because he saw it when I put it in. We all had a good laugh, the tech gal nearly hyperventilated laughing, and we finished dinner.
I asked him why he didn't tell me when I put the number in. He said he didn't think about it.
I feel sorry for whoever he marries. LOL.
So now Heath has a phone to carry around. It was a whopping $79 so he can buy another one if he loses it. He has been told I will extract his kidneys through his ear if I catch him using the internet on it. He has taken pictures of everything we own on it so far.
My tonsils may be safe now.
