Kids dirt bikes

If you ride those hard and put a good amount of hours on them you're going to have as much maintenance as a Motocross version.
They are a little revy and like pulling a higher rpm.
Bigger bore, small sprocket change, and titanium valves are all good upgrades.
Other than that I think they would suck chasing kiddos around. Hard trail riding and harescrambles are it's better suit.

Titanium valves come standard. Get the kibblewhite stainless valves and valve adjustments will go way down.

You can make them pretty hot if you're willing to spend some money. I have a buddy that had one and out a complete R top end on, so he basically had and electric start 250R.

The WR is a good option too. Probably better.

Do you think it would be along the lines of chasing kids around on a trx450r, because it only has one speed wide open? I want at least a 250 to ride around on that is electric start and not 2 stroke. I don't need it crazy fast but I don't want it to be slow enough for my wife to ride, if that makes sense?

Find one to ride, has very little bottom like most all new four strokes. Likes revs and you work the clutch more on slower right riding.
Not too stroke zippy, not old school four stroke lugging around either.

I started out at 10 on a Kaw 350 big horn,at 14 I was on a CB750. Straight in to the fire for me.
