So my now 8 year old has been riding in the TJ for over 2 years and this season my 5 year old will be joining us. My question is what has every experienced with kids in their TJs? Factory rear seat with boosters the way to go? Corbeau rear seat? Or what? Looking for suggestions.

When all my ladies go, My 8 year old Ella sits in booster in the back most of the time she's fine without booster, but it helps her see better.

Booster up front was fine, but now I have Corbeau seats, her booster dont fit anymore.

Not sure about corbeus/boosters in back. But I bet a booster will fit in a rear corbeau

I think the stock seat with boosters is the way to go until they can ride in a suspension seat.

Yeah, dad of the year award here: "Sweetie, do you want to ride in the front seat next time??" Kid gets all excited and then I go to put the booster in the front seat and it doesn't fit... FAIL haha

Full car seat with five point harness, properly installed.

When I eventually moved back to a wrangler, I intend to use 5 point harness as Shawn said. I’m considering building a sub-frame that I could anchor car seats rather than the stock seat and seatbelt since I would need 2 side by side. Soon enough my little girl will be able to sit in a real seat with a harness however she won’t be able to see real good.

Realistically if my whole family is with me I’m taking it sort of easy. My little girl is getting more into it though and wants to go on some trips to Harlan and Windrock with me so I intend to buy a built rig with a real cage and make sure it is safe for all of us.

Two full size car seats fit in the back of a TJ, no problem.

I realize that, just saying I’ve considered it to gain some more room. It wall also lower them down a little to keep them further away from the cage.
